Following their BAFTA-winning Grand Tour, Rob and Rylan leave the galleries and museums behind, as they travel to the beating heart of the art and culture of one of the oldest civilisations on the planet – India.
The duo follow in the footsteps of E M Forster. A gay man who travelled extensively in India a hundred years ago, Forster wrote the groundbreaking novel A Passage to India, and changed the way the world saw the country. Today, India is the world’s largest democracy, and with its 1.4bn people, the most populous country on earth.
Rob and Rylan embark on their own Passage to India - to see whether the country’s ancient wisdom, art and culture can show them how to live their best lives. But Rylan’s idea of a spiritual awakening is seeing Girls Aloud at the O2. A self-confessed control freak and germaphobe, the trip promises to be a bumpy ride for him. Rob meanwhile has been to the subcontinent before, but only as a tourist - and never with Rylan.
The trip challenges them both personally, intellectually and physically. But as it has for so many travellers before, their passage to India ultimately teaches them the art of living and helps them find a deeper, more spiritual connection to themselves, and each other.
